Hi, I’m Katrina — a parent at Goddard, Sts. Philip & James, and in the Smithtown School District, and the owner of KAT + MOUSE PHOTOGRAPHY Studio in St. James, NY.
With over 20 years of photography experience — including six years specializing in professional school portraits — I’ve proudly served families in Stony Brook, Smithtown, and surrounding Long Island communities. I’ve photographed multiple Goddard School locations as well as local schools like Per Tutti, delivering consistent, organized, and beautifully styled school portraits families love.
What to wear
Making Picture Day Easy (and Beautiful)
We know school mornings can feel rushed. Hair doesn’t cooperate. Someone spills something in the car. And sometimes those original school photos just didn’t feel like your child.
We’ve got you.
Our sessions are calm, guided, and child-friendly. We gently coach natural expressions (no forced smiles), keep things moving efficiently, and make sure every child feels comfortable in front of the camera.
To help your child feel confident and prepared:
• Lay outfits out the night before
• Avoid big logos or neon tones
• Bring a brush or hair tie for quick touch-ups
• Make sure faces are clean and well-rested
• Let them know this will be quick and fun! (A little ice cream motivation afterward is always encouraged 😉🍦)
What to expect
Pictures are scheduled for March 15th, 2026.
After each Student’s session parents will go home with a unique gallery code, which will be use to access their child’s images online.
We encourage families to place their orders early, as special pricing and discounts will be available for a limited time once galleries are released.
